About the Role:
As a Cyber Security Architect, you will be responsible for implementing, managing, and improving security technologies to safeguard critical infrastructure. Your expertise will guide the development of security solutions, ensuring compliance with industry best practices and government security standards.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and implementation of security architectures across cloud and on-premises environments.
  • Maintain and optimise security monitoring tools, including SIEM platforms such as  Microsoft Sentinel, Splunk, or similar solutions .
  • Ensure compliance with the  Australian Government Information Security Manual (ISM)  and other relevant security frameworks.
  • Deploy and manage  security technologies , including  firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), endpoint protection, and identity and access management solutions .
  • Oversee  Windows, Linux, and network security administration , ensuring system integrity and resilience.
  • Implement and support  cloud security solutions  across  Azure, AWS, or other cloud platforms .
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to assess security risks and recommend proactive measures.

Requirements:
  • Must have or be eligible to obtain  Negative Vetting Level 1 (NV1) clearance .
  • Strong background in  cyber security architecture, security operations, or related fields .
  • Experience with  SIEM solutions  such as  Microsoft Sentinel, Splunk, or QRadar .
  • Deep understanding of  government security compliance frameworks, including the ISM and PSPF .
  • Hands-on experience with a broad range of  security technologies , including  firewalls, endpoint security, IDS/IPS, and vulnerability management tools .
  • Proficiency in  system administration (Windows, Linux), networking principles, and security best practices .
  • Cloud security experience, particularly within  Azure, AWS, or hybrid cloud environments .

This is a  full-time, on-site contract role  (Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week) based in Canberra.
