A well-known Australian tech company is looking for a Senior Atlassian Administrator to join their team on a 3-month contract, with strong likelihood of extension.
This is a remote opportunity based anywhere in Australia only.
About the role
You’ll be the technical engine behind an AI-enabled operations service. The Ops team owns the service model and strategy. You’ll own the toolchain, configuring Jira Service Management and Jira Software, building automations, integrating AI agents, and stabilising the service while new team members onboard.
This is a senior implementer role, not a product owner seat. You’ll turn the team’s operating model into robust, scalable Jira configuration and tooling.
What you’ll be doing
- Designing and maintaining workflows, schemes, permission models, and custom fields in JSM and JSW
- Building automations, integrations, and scripts to reduce manual effort and standardise intake and routing
- Integrating AI agents into service desk workflows for intake classification, summaries, and response scaffolding
- Setting up queues, dashboards, and reporting to measure cycle time, throughput, and bottlenecks
- Documenting runbooks and supporting onboarding for desk participants
- Partnering with service design and content ops teams to translate their strategy into scalable configuration
What we’re looking for
- Strong hands-on experience administering Jira Service Management and Jira Software at scale
- Solid ITSM or ITIL background, incident, request, and problem workflows, SLAs, queue design
- Proven track record building automations and integrating 1st and 3rd party tools with the Atlassian stack
- Experience or strong interest in embedding AI into service workflows
- Ability to present options and trade-offs, then implement the chosen path
- Comfort partnering with non-engineering teams (ops, design, content) and respecting their ownership of process

- $900-$1100 + GST per day
