A growing, globally connected technology business is looking to bring on a Linux Support Engineer to join their platform support function here in Melbourne.
This is a great opportunity for someone early in their career who’s keen to build out their experience across Linux systems, databases, and production environments, working on real-world, customer-facing platforms.
What you’ll be doing
- Supporting and maintaining Linux-based systems in a live production environment
- Investigating and resolving incidents, ensuring high system availability
- Responding to support requests and documenting outcomes clearly
- Working with internal teams to transition new systems into support
- Troubleshooting performance issues across infrastructure and databases
- Contributing to ongoing optimisation and continuous improvement
- Supporting global customers in a fast-paced environment
What they’re looking for
- 2+ years’ experience working with Linux (essential)
- Exposure to Oracle SQL, SQL, or similar databases
- Solid understanding of core IT fundamentals (OS, networking, systems)
- Strong problem-solving mindset and willingness to learn
- Good communication skills and ability to work in a team environment
Nice to have
- Exposure to production support or incident management
- Experience working in shift-based or time-sensitive environments
- Any knowledge of monitoring tools or system performance tuning
