Data Engineer – 6 Month Fix Term Contract
Our client is a data-driven business on a mission to reduce time to insights that maximise value. They’re building something genuinely different, a cloud-first data platform with real ownership across engineering, analytics, architecture, governance, and security. They want people who take initiative, share knowledge, and aren’t afraid to ruffle a few feathers in pursuit of better ways of working.
The role
Joining the Data Engineering function, you’ll take real ownership of the data platform, not just tickets on a board. That means pipelines, data lake and warehouse, lakehouse ingestion, integration with reporting and operational systems, and everything in between.
You’ll work in a Scrum team, contribute to CI/CD improvement, and collaborate across product, design, and QA to deliver high-quality, well-tested solutions that are scalable without being overcomplicated.
What you’ll be doing
- Designing, building, and maintaining high-quality data pipelines backed by automated test cases
- Applying data governance and security practices from the ground up, not as an afterthought
- Troubleshooting with a root-cause mindset — stepping back to understand the broader impact of fixes
- Sharing knowledge through demos, brown bags, PRs, and documentation
- Participating in interviews and onboarding to help build a high-performing team
