ABOUT THE COMPANY
My client is a fast-growing scaleup with a platform that has serious traction and a large, established customer base across Australia and New Zealand. They’re building software that gets used every single day with real scale.
THE ROLE
This is a senior hands-on technical leadership role for someone who wants to own the engineering function and grow into a Head of Development. You’ll lead from the front — setting technical direction, mentoring the team, and staying deeply involved in the code. If you’re looking to step back from hands-on work, this isn’t the role. If you want to step up and own something meaningful, it is.
WHAT YOU’LL OWN
- Technical leadership and direction across the full stack
- Hands-on development across Microsoft technologies and Azure cloud
- Architecture decisions, code quality, and engineering standards
- CI/CD pipelines and Azure DevOps practices
- Mentoring and uplifting the broader engineering team
- Collaborating with product on delivery, priorities, and roadmap
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
- 10+ years of software development experience (15+ preferred)
- Strong Microsoft stack — ASP.NET WebForms, MVC, WCF, Web API
- Azure cloud experience
- SSO, OAuth2, JWT
- jQuery and Bootstrap
- MongoDB or other NoSQL databases (CouchDB, Couchbase or similar)
- Git and Azure CI/CD
- Strong grasp of software design patterns and the full SDLC
- Figma or equivalent UI/UX tooling experience
- Active user of AI tools to accelerate development velocity
WHO YOU ARE
- A hands-on leader — nothing is too small or too big
- High ownership mindset; you take responsibility and drive outcomes
- Proven tenure — you’ve committed to organisations and seen things through
- Hard-working, detail-oriented, and passionate about the craft
- Looking to grow, not just maintain
If this sounds like the right next step, apply now or reach out directly — we’d love to hear from you.
