Senior SDET (.NET / Automated Testing) – 6 month rolling contract

Join a major retail business on a long running transformation program focused on modernising quality engineering across a large scale .NET environment. This is a senior contract role for someone who can lead from the front in test automation, improve release confidence, and help shape best practice across engineering teams.
What you’ll be working on:
• Driving automated testing across a .NET transformation program, with a strong focus on C#, Playwright, and scalable test framework design
• Building end to end test coverage across complex workflows, user journeys, and integrated systems
• Improving quality practices across the SDLC by embedding shift-left testing, better test data strategies, and stronger automation coverage earlier in delivery
• Working closely with developers, product, and engineering teams to reduce defect leakage and improve release confidence
• Supporting testing across asynchronous, event-driven, and workflow-heavy applications where reliability and consistency are critical
• Helping uplift automation maturity, regression efficiency, and overall engineering quality standards
What you’ll bring:
• Strong commercial experience as a Senior SDET or Automation Test Engineer in complex enterprise environments
• Deep hands-on experience with C# and .NET testing ecosystems
• Strong experience with modern automation tools such as Playwright
• Experience testing complex workflows, APIs, integrated systems, and modern web applications
• Solid understanding of test strategy, test data management, and end to end validation
• Ability to work closely with developers and influence quality earlier in the software delivery lifecycle
• Experience in retail, digital, or other fast moving environments will be highly regarded
