About the role:
We are seeking experienced freelance Microsoft Fabric and Power Platform Consultants to support a variety of client engagements across multiple industries. You will work on a flexible, project-based basis, delivering expertise across solution design, training, proof-of-concept (PoC) development, and hands-on implementation work.
This role is ideal for independent consultants who enjoy varied assignments, autonomy, and the opportunity to help clients modernise their data, automation, and AI capabilities using the Microsoft ecosystem.
Our client is a Microsoft Fabric Partner specialising in consulting services to design, prototype, deliver, and enable client capabilities on Microsoft Fabric and the Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power Pages, Power BI), including the adoption and rollout of Microsoft Copilot scenarios. Typical services include:

  1. Accelerate value realisation from Microsoft Fabric and Power Platform through targeted PoCs, pilot implementations, and production-ready solutions.
  2. Establish good practice and governance, including environment strategy, security, compliance, and operational management.
  3. Upskill client teams via structured training, hands-on enablement, and knowledge transfer.
  4. Deliver prioritised use cases that improve productivity, data accessibility, automation, and decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:
Power Platform

  • Deliver end-to-end solutions across Power Apps, Power Automate, Power Pages, and Power BI.
  • Build process automations and integrations using Power Automate and Dataverse.
  • Develop low-code/no-code business applications using Power Apps (canvas and model-driven).
  • Support the rollout and adoption of Microsoft Copilot, including CoE alignment, governance, and scenario identification.

Microsoft Fabric

  • Design and deliver Microsoft Fabric implementations, including data engineering, data pipelines, lakehouse architecture, and analytics solutions.
  • Build PoCs that demonstrate Fabric’s capabilities across data integration, governance, and real-time analytics.
  • Advise clients on Fabric governance, security, workspace design, capacity planning, and best practices.
  • Support enablement activities such as tailored workshops and training sessions.

Adoption, Training & Client Engagement

  • Deliver training, capability uplift sessions, and hands-on mentorship for business and technical users.
  • Lead workshops to gather requirements, uncover opportunities, and define solution roadmaps.
  • Produce clear documentation including design specs, build notes, training materials, and handover packs.
  • Act as a trusted advisor, helping clients maximise value from their Microsoft investments.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience delivering Microsoft Fabric solutions (Data Factory, Lakehouse, Notebooks, Pipelines, Real-Time Analytics).
  • Strong hands-on capability in Power Platform development, particularly Power Apps and Power Automate.
  • Experience with Power BI development, modelling, DAX, and visualisation best practices.
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft 365, Azure, Dataverse, and integration patterns across the Microsoft ecosystem.
  • Ability to work independently with direct client interaction.
  • Excellent communication, workshop facilitation, and documentation skills.

Desirable Skills

  • Experience establishing or contributing to a Power Platform Centre of Excellence (CoE).
  • Knowledge of AI Builder, Copilot Studio, or advanced automation solutions.
  • Background in software development, data engineering, or cloud architecture (Azure).
  • Previous consulting or professional services experience.
